Anugula Rakesh Reddy is the Official Spokesperson of State BJP, Telangana. He is an Economist, BITS Pilani columnist, TV panelist, a Social Entrepreneur and a young and dynamic modern politician.

Rakesh Anugula is one of the very few BITSians in politics. He is currently the BJP State Official Spokesperson of Telangana. Born in an agricultural family in the rural hinterland of Telangana, Rakesh completed his Masters in Finance and Masters in Management Studies from the prestigious BITS Pilani. While at BITS, Rakesh was elected as the General Secretary of the BITS Pilani students union and brought in several changes in the functioning of Students Union. As a student, he had also launched an NGO, Nirmaan and strove to provide education and employment to rural poor. While graduating from BITS, he was awarded the Karthikeyan memorial award, an award given to the best student of Management Association, BITS Pilani.

He then worked with corporate biggies like JP Morgan Chase, Citi Bank, Zynga in the realm of investment banking and analytics for six years.

As a firm believer in the dictum that honest politics can effect real changes, he chose politics to serve the people. Inspired by Narendra Modi, he left his lucrative job and joined the BJP in 2013. As the BJP Youth Wing State Secretary of Telangana for three years, he has taken up a slew of developmental and service initiatives in his home turf and has shown a way how youth wings can operate professionally in developmental politics. He championed the anti corruption movement, movement for preservation of Heritage and Culture of Kakatiya Dynasty.

As an ardent researcher of matters of economy and administration, Rakesh been assisting the party in strategy formulation on key socio economic  and policy issues for the BJP. With his passion and intellect, very soon Rakesh has emerged as a key person of BJP in Telangana state. Through his policy research center, Center for Leadership and Governance, he has been offering inputs to the Governments to help them create people centric policies.

He is a columnist in leading Telugu news daily Eenadu and English dailies such as Hans India and Telangana Today on economic and governance matters. He is a frequent participant in TV panel debates. He has authored books, ‘Navashakaaniki Nandi’, ‘The Dawn of a New Era’, and ‘Telangana Economy’.
